Volunteers will meet at the Norris Park Ruff’ton Roots Potato and Sunflower Field and take a steep walk into the planting site where they will plant up to 150 small trees along the creek at the future Norris Park, formerly the Rutherfordton Golf Course.
Riparian Plants are trees and native species that protect waterways by creating a bio filter to absorb runoff, preventing erosion and contamination. Ruff’ton Roots and Rutherford Outdoor Coalition are cross-pollinating for this event, a big team of volunteers uniting under shared interests.
